Forest School Taster
You will learn about the philosophy of Forest School and the benefits it has. Participants will be invited to play get muddy and messy as they try a range of practical activities!
What does it cover?:
- What makes a Forest School
- Risk/Benefit analysis
- Links to EYFS and the National Curriculum
- A typical Forest School session – practical use of tools, fire and dens.
- Setting up your own Forest School – or bringing elements of this to your setting.
These sessions are tailor-made to your requirements. They are perfect for a whole school inset day to introduce the concept of forest school and inspire teachers to take their classes outdoors.Or they could be ideal for nurseries who want to develop their outdoor provision to include elements of the forest school ethos.
We have sites we can use for the day in Brighton and Hove, or sessions can take place within school grounds if you have an area you would like to use.
Sessions can also run at weekends for nursery staff.
This is an introduction and does not qualify you as a Forest School Leader, but aims to encourage and inspire leaders to get outdoors.
