Want to take your learning outdoors?

Bee in the Woods offers memorable and exciting outdoor learning for primary schools directly linked to the national curriculum.

Using natural resources in parks, gardens, beach and school grounds in Brighton, Hove, West & East Sussex, we can work with you on a particular topic to plan one-off curriculum-linked sessions and bring your blended learning to life.

Our Outdoor Learning sessions have been carefully concocted by experienced teachers to cover curriculum targets, with suggestions and support for fun follow-up work back in the classroom. Literacy, Numeracy, History, Science… let our outdoor experience and creativity inspire you.

Sessions are available to book all year round across the seasons.

Story-based Workshops

These cross-curricular activity days follow characters on their journey through a story. Sessions include Forest School skills and can link as much or as little to a Programme of Study as you would like.

Living & Growing

Covering science, numeracy and literacy modules, learn about the wonderful worlds of plants, insects and animals through engaging, hands-on activities.

Ancient Britain

Journey back in time to discover how our ancestors lived and worked with their environment. Learn ancient survival skills such as fire lighting, shelter building, pigments and weaving.

Senses and Creativity

Immerse yourself in nature through a wide range of sensory games. Then get creative! Activities involve collage, sculpture and smelly cocktails, with links to artists such as Andy Goldsworthy.
